Rand Heer

I’m a serial entrepreneur, obsessed with creating software that helps finance and operations managers better run their businesses. After a short career in finance at Rockwell International, I moved to Silicon Valley where I founded five companies—all in the enterprise planning and forecasting space utilizing leading edge technologies such as OLAP, object oriented programming, and cloud based analytics. Over time, I’ve handed off my experiences to others through industry publications and white papers.

At Alight, working with a motivated entrepreneurial team, we’re creating world class, cloud-based software for vertical industries such as Mining and Mortgage Lending. Our criteria for a vertical? Businesses that are vital to our economy but where complexities and volatility of the industry overwhelm even the best spreadsheet jockeys. And our critical mission? Making plans and forecasts accessible to managers at all levels from the CEO down, not just finance.
